SEGi College Kuala Lumpur Students Gain Industry Insights Through Karangkraf Media Visit 2026

Karangkraf Media Group, 29 June 2026 – Students from SEGi College Kuala Lumpur had the opportunity to gain first-hand exposure to Malaysia’s media and publishing industry through the Karangkraf Media Visit 2026, organised by the School of Communication and Creative Design (SOCCD) in ,collaboration with the Student Experience Office (SEO) and the Student Representative Council 2026/2027

The visit to Karangkraf, one of Malaysia’s leading media, publishing, and printing organisations, provided students with valuable insights into the operations of a large-scale media conglomerate. Established in 1978, Karangkraf has grown into a prominent industry player encompassing publishing, printing, digital media, and news platforms.

The programme commenced with a corporate briefing and sharing session conducted by representatives from Karangkraf, where students were introduced to the organisation’s history, business operations, media ecosystem, and evolving role within Malaysia’s publishing and communications landscape. Students also had the opportunity to learn about career pathways within the media industry and the importance of adaptability in an increasingly digital environment.

A key highlight of the visit was the sharing session by Firdaus Hussamuddin and Nik Justin, who provided valuable perspectives on leadership, corporate communications, media management, and the future of the industry. Their experiences and professional insights offered students a deeper understanding of the skills, mindset, and resilience required to thrive in a competitive media environment.

Students were also given an exclusive tour of Karangkraf’s facilities, including its printing operations, editorial departments, and digital media divisions. The visit allowed participants to witness the end-to-end process involved in producing newspapers, books, magazines, and digital content, while gaining a greater appreciation for the scale and complexity of modern media production.

Beyond technical knowledge, the programme encouraged students to connect classroom learning with real-world industry practices. The exposure enabled participants to better understand the relationship between communication, technology, content creation, and business strategy within a professional media organisation.
