Students Unite for World Down Syndrome Day

SEGi University once again demonstrates its commitment to inclusivity and compassion, as students from various programmes unite to mark World Down Syndrome Day on 21 March 2024. In a heartwarming display of solidarity, students from Faculty of Education Languages, Psychology & Music (FOELPM)’s, Master of Education (MED), and Bachelor of Education (BED) programmes join hands to advocate for the #EndTheStereotype message.

Over the past three Saturdays, these students have embarked on a remarkable journey alongside their friends with Down Syndrome and Intellectual Disabilities. Together, they engaged in a delightful baking session, producing a delectable batch of Chocolate Chip Cookies.

Employing innovative teaching methods and visual strategies, the FOELPM, MED, and BED students provided a nurturing environment where everyone could thrive. This exemplifies SEGi’s dedication to #qualityeducation, ensuring that every individual receives personalized support tailored to their needs.

The experience proved transformative for all involved, fostering mutual respect and admiration. As they witnessed the talents and capabilities of their friends, the students embraced the collaborative spirit of the baking session.

On this occasion, SEGi University wishes everyone a Happy World Down Syndrome Day, emphasising the importance of breaking stereotypes and fostering inclusivity. Through initiatives like these, SEGi continues to uphold its reputation as a leading institution dedicated to nurturing compassionate and socially responsible individuals.
