They Didn’t Just Learn Marketing — They Learned to Outsmart It

SEGi delivered a future-focused boost to its business students through the Digital Marketing Utilising AI workshop, held on 9 April 2025. Organised by the Student Experience Office and the School of Business & Accounting, the event brought together 45 eager participants for a dynamic two-hour session led by Kelly Chong, CEO of KelC Agency & Academy. The workshop offered more than just surface-level insights — it explored how artificial intelligence is reshaping every layer of digital marketing, from content creation to analytics and strategic execution.

Students gained hands-on exposure to AI-powered tools and techniques that are redefining how brands connect with audiences. Topics included AI content mastery, integrated digital marketing, and real-time performance analytics — all vital to succeeding in an increasingly automated and data-driven marketing landscape. With digital ad spending projected to exceed USD 740 billion globally by 2025, understanding AI’s role in maximising return on investment is no longer optional — it’s essential.

The session also highlighted the strategic role of AI in improving campaign precision, personalisation, and decision-making — areas that align closely with the demands of modern marketing employers. For SEGi College Kuala Lumpur students, this wasn’t just an academic exercise; it was direct exposure to industry realities that will shape their careers. By integrating AI knowledge into their digital marketing toolkit, participants are better equipped to drive innovation and stay competitive in the rapidly evolving job market.

Events like this reflect SEGi’s ongoing commitment to aligning academic programmes with global industry trends, while also building tech-savvy, innovation-ready graduates. As businesses become increasingly data-dependent, it is critical that students are equipped with both technical tools and the strategic mindset to navigate complex, digital-first environments.
