Students Extend a Helping Hand to House of Joy Orphanage

A group of six SEGi students demonstrated their commitment to community development with a heartwarming visit to the House of Joy Orphanage in Puchong on Saturday, 20th July 2024. Organized by the MPU students, the visit aimed to bring joy and support to the children residing at the orphanage.

The students took initiative by purchasing art supplies online and visiting the Lotus mall in Mutiara Damansara to buy fresh produce to donate to the orphanage. Their thoughtful gesture provided the children with essential resources and nutritious food.

Upon arrival at the orphanage, the students were met with initial caution from the staff, likely due to unfamiliarity with their intentions. However, the students’ genuine care and generosity quickly shone through. In addition to the donated items, Krishna made a personal contribution of approximately RM500, further demonstrating their commitment to supporting the orphanage.

Touched by the students’ sincerity, the staff warmed up and allowed them to interact with the children and capture a group photo. Despite the initial hesitation, the visit fostered a sense of connection and shared humanity.

“Though we belong to different races and cultures, we all feel the same happiness,” shared one of the students, highlighting the unifying power of compassion and community engagement.
