SEGi College Kuala Lumpur’s Creative Media & Film Club (CMFC) recently hosted “Malaysian Haunt Spirits and Sweets,” a spooktacular event that brought together students, faculty, and the community for two days of frightful fun and festive treats.
Held on 7 and 9 November 2024, the event transformed the SCKL Student Lounge into a hair-raising haunted house experience. The CMFC members dedicated over a week to meticulously planning and decorating the venue, showcasing their creativity and teamwork. Their efforts paid off, as the haunted house drew in 120 attendees across both days, including full-time and part-time SEGi students and their friends.
Beyond the thrills and chills, the event served several key objectives:
- Revitalising the CMFC: The event successfully re-energised the Creative Media & Film Club, fostering a sense of community and attracting new members.
- Promoting Inclusivity: By hosting the event on two separate days, the CMFC ensured that both full-time and weekend students had the opportunity to participate.
- Spreading Joy: “Malaysian Haunt Spirits and Sweets” provided a fun and engaging experience for all attendees, fostering a sense of camaraderie and shared enjoyment.
The event’s success highlights the power of student-led initiatives in building a vibrant and inclusive campus community. By combining creativity, teamwork, and a dash of spooky fun, the CMFC created a memorable experience that fostered connections and strengthened bonds within the SEGi community.
