Muhammad Farhan, a student of SEGi College Kuala Lumpur’s School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (SOHTM), recently attended the Try Course Education Fair 2023, which was held at Pavilion Bukit Jalil. The exhibition allows prospective students to sample the many courses provided by Malaysia’s colleges and institutions.
Farhan, as a representative of SOHTM’s Diploma in Culinary Arts programme, led a one-hour interaction programme demonstrating a product for the Try Course programme. They produced and showed “Chicken Wrap,” a healthful and delectable dish based on Fusion Cuisine – a fusion of Arabic, Latin, and Asian flavours.
The Try Course programme enables prospective students to gain firsthand knowledge of the courses offered by member universities. Participants unexpectedly supported and cooperated with Farhan’s interaction programme. Following around 20 minutes of lecturing and discussing about practical class sessions, courses available in the Culinary Arts programme, and the manner of learning, the participants were invited to participate in and cook the dish.
The workshop was well received by the participants, who expressed a strong interest in the Culinary Arts degree. They answered questions and discussed the programme, and the session concluded with positive ratings and feedback. This type of outreach marketing effort is a great approach to highlight SEGi’s teaching and learning methods, as well as the abilities of its students and teachers.
The School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (SOHTM) at SEGi College Kuala Lumpur provides a variety of programmes, including a Diploma in Culinary Arts, a Diploma in Hotel Management, a Diploma in Tourism Management, and a Diploma in Event Management. The programmes are designed to provide students with the skills and information they need to excel in the hospitality and tourist industries.
The participation of SEGi College Kuala Lumpur in the Try Course Education Fair 2023 emphasises the importance of student engagement in marketing the institution and its programmes. It also demonstrates the college’s dedication to provide opportunities for its students to demonstrate their skills and capabilities to potential clients. SEGi College Kuala Lumpur’s SOHTM, with its emphasis on practical learning, is a great alternative for individuals interested in a career in the hospitality and tourist business.
