Photography club promotes mental health and social connection through Art & Bonding

The School of Creative Art & Design (SOCAD) Photography Club at SEGi College Subang Jaya recently organised an Art & Bonding event, which gave students the opportunity to showcase their creative selves and bond with others in a positive and supportive environment. This event allowed students to express themselves creatively and unwind, promoting a new creative and relaxing lifestyle.

Participating in creative activities such as painting, according to a study published in the American Journal of Public Health, can reduce stress and improve overall mental health. Participating in group activities can also promote social connection and alleviate feelings of isolation.

The SOCAD Art & Bonding event was a huge success, with students and lecturers getting together to paint and enjoy a good breakfast in a relaxed setting. The event allowed students to make long-lasting memories and strengthen relationships with their lecturers.

Participation in the arts, according to a National Endowment for the Arts report, can improve academic performance and civic engagement. SOCAD promotes the development of well-rounded individuals who are better equipped to succeed in life by providing students with opportunities to engage in creative activities.

The SOCAD Art & Bonding event demonstrated how creativity and social connection can promote mental health and personal growth. More events like this can inspire and empower the next generation to express themselves creatively and form strong bonds with others.
