School of Education and SEGi Marketing Kuala Lumpur organised a talk for the teachers of VIP Kindergarten Seri Petaling. The talk was on Early Childhood Education in the 21st century. The teachers who were a team of vibrant youngsters were mostly SPM leavers looking to pursue a tertiary education. The talk started with an introduction to Early Childhood Education in the 21st century. The future teachers were highlighted on the importance of quality and qualified Early Childhood educators as it would give them a sense of responsibility knowing how important their role is in the early childhood field.
Besides that, they were briefed about the important skills needed for young pre-schoolers today. These skills comprise of learning & innovation skills, digital literacy skills and life & career skills which will allow future teachers to prepare preschool children in the modern world. The teachers had many questions regarding early childhood education and its growth in Malaysia and they also took a career test to see their best fit career. To their surprise, most of them were aligned to the service field.
In the end, they also had a preview on the Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education programme that SEGi KL had to offer. They were happy that it was something that they were looking for. As a team of lecturers and counsellors, they look forward to hosting many more sessions and talks that will bring an impact for young SPM leavers.
