In a dazzling display of talent, the Photography Club from SEGi College Kuala Lumpur proudly emerged as the recipient of the Consolation Prize at the VIPKI 2023 IPT Short Film Competition organised by Institut Kefahaman Islam Malaysia (IKIM). This prestigious event unfolded at Hotel Premiera in Kuala Lumpur on 28 November 2023.
This remarkable accomplishment marks a significant milestone for the Photography Club, as they not only secured a position among the top contenders but also stood out as the sole private institution to make it to the final round. Outshining 223 submissions from various institutions, the SCKL Photography Club showcased their creativity, technical prowess, and storytelling finesse.
The winning entry, titled “5 Minit Sebelum Azan”, stood out for its compelling narrative, visual aesthetics, and seamless integration of the competition’s theme. The short film skilfully navigated the delicate balance between storytelling and technical brilliance, capturing the essence of the competition.
“We are elated to have our hard work and passion for storytelling through visuals recognized at such a prestigious platform. Securing the Consolation Prize is not just a win for us but a win for every member who contributed to ‘5 Minit Sebelum Azan”. Being the only private institution in the final speaks volumes about the dedication of our team”, expressed Muhammad Zameer, a student and director of the film.
