A wonderful opportunity for SEGi Nursing students

SEGi College Kuala Lumpur had the pleasure of having Gleneagles Hospital Medini Johor’s Director of Nursing, Ms Koon Lai Chew, and their Head of Human Capital Management, Ms Megan Heng, with us on 27 May 2022.

Gleneagles is one of the leading private hospitals in Malaysia to have received the Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation, with a capacity of three hundred beds as well as a variety of modern facilities and medical equipment catering to the needs of every individual patient, as well as providing a wide range of medical specialties, diagnostics, imaging, and screening services. We are proud and privileged to be in collaboration with them.

Final-year nursing students who are waiting for the June Malaysian Nursing Board examinations attended this briefing, when training procedures, job opportunities, career pathways and incentives were explained. The students were given the chance to select the specific topics they had interests in.

The general facilities of Gleneagles include the Accident and Emergency Department, the Labour Room, the  Neonatal Unit, the Paediatric Ward, the Operating Theatre, the Haemodialysis Unit, and the Intensive Care Unit.

There are also free hostels located opposite the hospital which are provided for the first six months to assist in the accommodation of new employees. Gleneagles gives full sponsorships for post-basic courses with a year’s paid leave. The most exciting part is that Gleneagles employees are allowed to go on interstate exchange back to their individual hometowns.

SEGi College Kuala Lumpur thanks Gleneagles and is very excited for our nursing students to have been given this wonderful opportunity.
