SEGi College Subang Jaya recently demonstrated its commitment to social responsibility by successfully organising the “Clothes of Care” event, held on 29 March 2024. This meaningful initiative, led by the School of MPU, aimed to support the local orphanage, Rumah KIDS, in Subang Jaya. The event focused on collecting preloved clothes, which were later donated to the orphanage, along with essential supplies, on 30 March 2024.
The Clothes of Care campaign aligns with SEGi’s broader mission of community engagement and sustainability. By donating wearable used clothes, SEGi College Subang Jaya not only helped to fulfil a basic need for the children at Rumah KIDS but also provided financial relief to the orphanage. The funds that would have been spent on clothing can now be redirected towards other critical needs, such as food, education, and healthcare, thereby enhancing the overall well-being of the children.
This initiative is a testament to SEGi College’s dedication to making a positive impact in the community. It underscores the importance of social responsibility in education, where students and faculty work together to address pressing social issues. The event also highlights SEGi’s alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
The success of the Clothes of Care event reflects SEGi’s ongoing efforts to foster a culture of care and generosity within its community. By encouraging students to participate in such initiatives, SEGi College Subang Jaya is helping to develop compassionate leaders who are committed to making a difference in society. The event not only brought immediate relief to the children of Rumah KIDS but also set a powerful example of how educational institutions can contribute to sustainable development and social equity.
This event is organised in support of the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG):
SDG 1 (No Poverty)
SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being)
