In honour of Malaysia Day 2022, the Psychology students of SEGi University and Colleges recently organised a photography exhibition themed “Colours of Malaysia” at Da Men Mall in Subang Jaya.
It was officiated by the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Languages, Psychology and Music, Associate Professor Dr Lydia Foong Yoke Yean. An ensemble from the Music Department of SEGi College Subang Jaya performed a traditional song called “ Sayang-Sayang Anak Ayam” during the opening ceremony.
In this project, the students conducted interviews in the community, a task which has helped them to develop speaking, listening and empathy skills, all of which are crucial for psychology students. It was also an incredible platform for community members to share their personal experiences, educating the general public about people’s lives in different regions of Malaysia.
The project was completed by psychology students from SEGi College campuses in Subang Jaya, Sarawak, and Penang, as well as SEGi University.
120 enlightening stories in pictures from the various communities in Malaysia were told in the exhibition, which was sponsored by Futuromic AV Photo Sdn Bhd, Nikon and Da Men Mall.
