It’s not every day (nor every year) that a college gets a string of accolades praising it for being one of the Best Colleges in the Country. Yet we’ve done it again! Yes, we have! For the fifth consecutive time since 2009 when it all began, SEGi College Subang Jaya (SCSJ) has amazingly bagged the Top College Award by the Malaysian Quality Evaluation System for Private Colleges (MyQuest). And yes, we’re simply over the moon!
We at SEGi College Subang Jaya are indeed very proud and honoured to have been winning MyQuest’s six-star rating (six-stars being highly competitive and the maximum number of stars) unfailingly for the fifth time in a row since the inception of this Ministry of Education’s rating system in 2009. The Malaysian Quality Evaluation System for Private Colleges (MyQuest) was created by the Malaysian Ministry of Education to encourage excellence in higher education institutions of college status in Malaysia. It is one of the most important mandatory assessments for private colleges and is undertaken once every two years.
In the 2016-2017 quest for excellence, SEGi College Subang Jaya emerged as the Biggest Winner among all the colleges in Malaysia! And how did we accomplish this stellar performance? Well, we were awarded six stars in nine out of the entire ten categories, which is the highest number of MyQuest’s six-star rating in the whole country!
No small feat for anyone, really. That’s why we’re really proud of ourselves for having excelled once again. And why do we continuously strive to excel? Well, because we made a commitment to our students, their parents, and to ourselves. That we will always endeavour to be the very best that we can be. We’re gratified to know that our best is also the best in the eyes of the Ministry of Education’s stringent MyQuest rating system.
What’s even more gratifying is that in this round in the 2018/19 exercise, we secured and maintained our grand position as one of the only two colleges that secured the coveted six-star rating in the large–college category (colleges with more than 2000 students).
Mr Calvin Chan, the Principal, shares some of his thoughts. “SEGi College Subang Jaya (SCSJ) has proven itself to be outstanding by emerging as a champion yet again due to many factors, among which the most important are our commitment to excellence and the heartfelt efforts of, who has embarked upon the following initiatives to ensure academic excellence and a holistic experience for all the students in our care. These thoughtful efforts include our multi-million-Ringgit investment on Blackboard, a learning management software used by many top institutions in the world to facilitate and optimise the teaching and learning process and experience. We’ve also been fostering close partnerships with a wide spectrum of industries in the country and around the world to develop industry-relevant courses and assignments. Also, we’ve recently announced new programmes in collaboration with the University of Greenwich to fit emerging job demands, among which is our Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Advertising and Digital Marketing Communication.”
The MyQuest rating is no small matter, nor something to be shrugged off nonchalantly. It is real, and it is serious. To our students, both current and prospective, it is a firm assurance of the quality of education that they will receive at SEGi College Subang Jaya, allowing them to stand out as exemplary graduates of one of the top colleges (if not the Number One) of Malaysia. It is a great leverage and advantage for them to secure the host of great employment opportunities that await them at the end of their studies with us. And to us as a college, the MyQuest rating validates and assures our existence and commitment as a superior educational institution in Malaysia.
And of this you can be sure – we intend to keep our place at the very top of all the colleges in the country. This is our commitment to you.
