SEGi University and Colleges Subang Jaya’s Campus Foundation in Science students had an exhibition on 23 June 2022 to engage with other programmes’ students to demonstrate their skills and knowledge through scientific experiments. Organised by the Faculty of Engineering and IT, the exhibition was divided into two groups, Chemistry and Biology.
Students from the Chemistry group set up three areas with experiments conducted on the elephant toothpaste, the separation of ink using chromatography, and magic mud.
The Biology team set up three areas with experiments conducted on food, cell membrane permeability and organ-specimen observation. The food test was done on the contents of starch, glucose, protein and oil in various foods such as eggs, bread, fruits, and vegetable oil. The cell-membrane permeability test was done at different temperatures. In the organ specimen observation, the students prepared three organs, namely the kidney, lung and pancreas, to be observed under the microscope.
The Foundation in Science Exhibition, in conjunction with the Faculty of Engineering Week, was a successful event. It was an exhilarating experience to see that the students had a fun and insightful time.
