SEGi College Subang Jaya’s Hospitality and Tourism Society organised a career talk by Resorts World Genting on 13 March 2023, featuring the company’s Human Resource Executive, Harley Lee Qi Zhen, and the Club Director of the Crockfords Hotel Butler Department, Edmund Chin.
Forty students from the School of Hospitality and Tourism, as well as lecturers Priya Tharshayani and Akmal Hafiz, attended the event. During the talk, the audience was told about the career path in the hotel and resort industry, including employment insights and opportunities at Resorts World Genting, and gained information on how to become a professional butler.
The first part of the talk was an overview of Resorts World Genting by Lee, who also spoke about internship placement opportunity packages at the company. Then Chin introduced the audience to a career as a professional butler in the hotel industry.
The talk was part of SEGi’s ongoing efforts to stay current with the latest industry trends and a way of offering students valuable learning opportunities from industry experts. It gave the students great insights into the current trends and the needs of the industry through these experts, and strengthened our collaborative efforts with the hospitality industry.
