Subang Jaya – SEGi Group of Colleges’ final year students from the Faculty of Creative Arts and Design (FOCAD), organised a virtual-art exhibition on the Media, Arts and Design (MAD) Showcase Series I, 2021, which took place virtually on SEGi College Subang Jaya’s Facebook page on 15 April 2021 from 2.30 pm to 5 pm.
This art exhibition was to showcase the artworks of final year FOCAD students from batch August – November 2020, which included students from the Diploma in Graphic Design, Diploma in Interior Architecture, Diploma in Digital Photo Media, Diploma in Creative Multimedia, as well as Certificate of Creative Design.
As a requirement of the exhibition, the students had to focus on objectives to promote SEGi College as the best option to pursue their studies among SPM holders (via SEGi College – school outreach program) and to activate dynamic content in supporting our Digital Marketing Department (via SEGi College Facebook). These artworks were displayed virtually and presented in the best format.
The success of the exhibition depended on the students’ creativity to come up with themes, and among the ones chosen were:
- Interior Architecture of Commercial Space by students of Diploma in Interior Architecture
- Multimedia for Commercial Applications by students of Diploma in Creative Multimedia
- Independent Expression of Artwork by students of Diploma in Digital Photo Media
- Commercial Designs of Artwork by students of Diploma in Graphic Design
- Paying Homage to Artist (analyse, study on styles and techniques) by students of Certificate of Creative Design
At 2.30 pm, the host for the event, Sheikh Haikal bin Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al- Arishee, invited Ms Carolyn Choo, Head of Academics, to deliver her aspiring welcome speech. Later, student alumni representative Puteri Nur Emira Emylla Binti Badrol shared her experiences at SEGi College Subang Jaya and added that consistent effort leads to future rewards.
The virtual-art exhibition was smoothly guided by Mr Roslan bin Othman, Head of the Faculty of Creative Arts and Design (FOCAD). He welcomed all guests and showed the audience how to appreciate the artwork. It was a fun event where everyone got the opportunity to discover artwork virtually.
To conclude, the virtual art exhibition achieved its objectives by receiving positive feedback from the audience. It was exciting to tour the art exhibition virtually, to appreciate the pieces, and the students who worked hard on them deserve to feel proud of all their efforts to make the event a great success.
