SEGi University and Colleges Subang Jaya Campus’ Faculty of Engineering and IT recently held a meeting in Cyberjaya with DreamEdge on 31 May 2022. DreamEdge is an innovative engineering company recognised by the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), whose vision is to inspire and develop creative engineering breakthroughs in the country.
Organised by the Faculty of Engineering and IT, the meeting was an initiative meant to bring the Industry into the classroom through the expertise of DreamEdge with the signing of an MoU, paving the way for the company to provide and develop content for SEGi’s MetaCampus Engineering module.
SEGi team was represented by TS Prakas, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Engineering and IT, and its programme leaders, Dr Ida Fahani and TS Norhafana. On behalf of DreamEdge, Hisham Razuli Halim, Engineering Head, and Zul Ashraf Bakri, Senior Technical Manager, welcomed the SEGi team, a highlight of the meeting was when Zul gave a demonstration on the functions of a smart car.
Another interesting aspect was when Saiful Bahri Sudarno, Head of the CEO’s Office, gave a detailed introduction of their products, which include Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Mixed Reality (MR), programming DOJOs & drones, ship-handling simulation, Electronics and Systems (E&S), remote lawnmower, and Seni Art. In a final round-up, Hisham presented DreamEdge’s corporate profile to SEGi representatives.
SEGi has much to benefit from this collaboration as DreamEdge, a company of automotive-industry experts, will provide our students with invaluable knowledge-sharing sessions and countless job opportunities. Course learning outcomes will be assessed by both SEGi lecturers and DreamEdge expert team, giving our students an edge over other engineering graduates.
To date, SEGi is the first private higher education provider to offer Automotive Engineering in the Klang Valley. Our students are able to create large networks, gain wider insights, and make greater strides as they progress towards their bright Engineering and IT careers via our Industry in the classroom concept.
