On 2 October 2022, SEGi University & Colleges’ School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (SoHTM) students took part as helpers and volunteers at the Charity Jam Session (CJS) 2022.
The CJS 2022 was organised by the Malaysia Association of Hotels (MAH), Food Aid Foundation and Malaysian Food & Beverage Executives Association (MFBEA). SEGi University & Colleges is an association member with the three organisations.
This year, the event aspires to raise funds for The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), a tertiary referral centre for critically ill children and to all the local musicians that have been lending their talents to help support worthy causes through CJS since its inception.
The proceeds from the donations, sales of food and beverages at the event as well as coupons will be presented to the beneficiaries.
About 25 culinary and hospitality students from SEGi Kota Damansara, SEGi Subang Jaya and SEGi Kuala Lumpur participated as student helpers and volunteers in helping to cook and serve for this event.
The team was led by the head of the school of hospitality and tourism management school, Bonnie, and assisted by Akmal Programme Leader from SEGi Subang and Jasfarizal Programme leader from SEGi Kuala Lumpur.
CJS 2022 is one of the events that give great exposure for the SoHTM students, gain actual industry experiences, and build networking with the hospitality industry player and associations. It is part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for SEGi University and Colleges, contributing to society.
