SEGi students contribute to Mamee Malaysia

SEGi College celebrates yet another successful industrial collaboration between the Faculty of Business and Accountancy and Mamee Food Service Malaysia.

After two months of hard work and effort, six shortlisted groups from three different SEGi campuses were offered the opportunity to virtually present their digital and service marketing ideas to the Mamee Group Director, Mr Felix Pang, and the Director of Food Service Mamee Malaysia, Ms Jennifer Chee, on 21 April 2022.  The presentations were judged based on the creativity, practicability and persuasiveness of each campaign idea. All the participants were given the task of creating original concepts to develop brand awareness and engagement from physical-evidence perspectives.

This industrial collaboration provides a new learning experience and allows students to understand the applicability of their education in the real business environment. Our students paid extra attention in class in order to grasp every single detail, allowing them to try to outperform each during the presentation. The lessons then became even more meaningful, interesting and participative due to this real-life project.

The happy winners were from SEGi College Subang Jaya, namely Lim Fang Hoong, Everlyn Chua Suet, Wei, Tan Kai Teng and Vian Tan Hui Xin. The runner-up team was from SEGi College Penang, namely Jodie Leong Cai En, Lim Yi Yun, Lou May Qin and Tan Si Hui.

In this industrial collaboration, the students from SEGi’s Business Faculty received constructive feedback from the industry, allowing them to understand their strengths and weaknesses.

Mr Pang said the winning ideas are in line with Deabak Mamee’s current business direction, and Ms Chee commented that Deabak is in the process of evaluating the students ideas and will apply them in their upcoming marketing activities.

SEGi thanks  Mamee Malaysia for this great opportunity, and will continue to bring up more industrial projects to enhance our students learning experience.
