“I was in Busan, Korea recently and it reminds me of the popular action-thriller movie “Train to Busan”. Its a film about how Gong Yoo (the main character), his estranged daughter and other passengers fight to survive on a speeding train during a zombie outbreak.
While there is no zombie outbreak in the real world, there is however a different form of “outbreak” that is slowly changing the way we live, work and communicate — the 4th Industrial Revolution (IR 4.0).
Taking automation and artificial intelligence to a whole new level, IR 4.0 is replacing millions of jobs worldwide. As a member of the tertiary education system, it is mission-critical that we prepare our students with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes so that not only can they survive but thrive in the “outbreak” of technological advancements that IR 4.0 brings.”
