Students from SEGi recently experienced a transformative learning opportunity through a hands-on training session hosted by the Sheraton Hotel Kuching. Held on 4 July 2025, the industry visit bridged academic knowledge with real-world hospitality operations, preparing students for a seamless transition into professional roles.<\/p>\n

Participants explored key departments of the hotel including food and beverage, front office, housekeeping, and banquet services\u2014gaining invaluable exposure to the precision, coordination, and customer-centric standards required in premium hospitality. Guided by Sheraton\u2019s experienced professionals, students not only observed high-level operational flows but also developed interpersonal and teamwork skills that are essential for thriving in service-based industries.<\/p>\n

The experience exemplifies SEGi College Sarawak\u2019s commitment to immersive, work-based learning that goes beyond textbooks. With tourism and hospitality contributing approximately 13% to Malaysia\u2019s GDP and employing over 3.6 million people (source: Tourism Malaysia<\/a>), the industry remains a key economic driver, offering robust opportunities for future graduates.
