The session featured a distinguished guest from the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) Sarawak, Factory and Machinery Inspector, Noor\u2019Izzati Khairusalleh. Her extensive experience in the field provided students with valuable insights into the practical aspects of workplace safety.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The two-hour session, conducted at the Theatrette Hall, focused on critical topics such as hazard identification, risk assessment, and risk control (HIRARC). Noor\u2019Izzati effectively conveyed these essential concepts using real-life examples, demonstrating how these principles are applied in real-world scenarios. Her approach not only clarified the importance of safety measures but also emphasised how proactive risk management can prevent workplace accidents and create safer working environments.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This initiative reflects SEGi College Sarawak\u2019s commitment to providing a comprehensive education that extends beyond theoretical learning. By exposing students to professionals like Noor\u2019Izzati, the college ensures that they are well-prepared to tackle the challenges they will encounter in their future careers, particularly in the field of occupational safety and health.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">As part of SEGi\u2019s broader educational goals, this talk contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically by promoting good health and well-being, quality education, and fostering partnerships for the goals.
