SEGi College Sarawak recently demonstrated its unwavering commitment to health and community engagement through its Psychology Health Event Week. This vibrant two-day event, organised by third-year Diploma in Psychology students, was designed to raise health awareness and foster a sense of unity within the college community. The event featured three impactful activities: a Free Medical Checkup, a Menstrual Talk, and a Blood Donation Campaign.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The event commenced on 25th July, with the Social Sphere and Lobby bustling with energy as students and staff participated in the Free Medical Checkup. MANA Pharmacy provided essential health screenings, including tests for cholesterol, blood sugar, uric acid, and blood pressure. The atmosphere was lively and engaging, with a “Just Dance” floor adding a fun element to the health-focused activities, reflecting SEGi’s commitment to blending wellness with enjoyment.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On the following day, the SEGi Theatrette hosted a thought-provoking Menstrual Talk attended by approximately 25 participants. This session aimed to break down the stigma surrounding menstruation and promote open discussions about menstrual health, hygiene, and period poverty. Interactive games further enhanced the learning experience, ensuring that participants left with a deeper understanding and appreciation of this critical aspect of women’s health.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The week concluded with a powerful Blood Donation Campaign on 26th July, held in partnership with Borneo Medical Centre. From 9 am to 12 pm, the Social Sphere became a hub of altruism as participants donated blood, embracing the opportunity to give the gift of life. The campaign was a poignant reminder of the importance of community support and the role of health psychology in promoting wellbeing.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

SEGi College Sarawak\u2019s Psychology Health Event Week was a resounding success, drawing significant participation and engagement. The student-led initiative not only provided crucial health services but also strengthened the college’s sense of community and solidarity. As the event drew to a close, attendees left with a renewed commitment to promoting wellness, inclusivity, and empathy.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
