SEGi College Penang, in collaboration with the Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB)<\/strong>, recently organised the Smart Events, Smart Future Talk: Technology in the MICE Industry<\/strong>, providing students with valuable exposure to the rapidly evolving world of business events and digital innovation.<\/p>\n

The industry talk featured Mr Balashangaran A\/L Karuppiah<\/strong> from Digital Penang<\/strong>, who shared his expertise on how emerging technologies are transforming the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) industry. Students gained a deeper understanding of current industry trends, digital solutions, and the future of event management in an increasingly technology-driven landscape.<\/p>\n

Throughout the session, participants explored how innovation, digitalisation, and smart technologies are reshaping the planning and delivery of events. The sharing also highlighted the growing importance of embracing technology to enhance efficiency, improve attendee experiences, and drive sustainable growth within the industry.<\/p>\n

The interactive session allowed students to connect classroom learning with real-world industry practices, equipping them with practical insights into the evolving demands of the MICE sector. It also encouraged them to think creatively about the role of technology in shaping future careers in tourism, hospitality, and event management.<\/p>\n
