The programme was designed to provide students with real-world exposure to the criminal justice system and to deepen their understanding of human behaviour within correctional settings.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"499\" data-end=\"877\">During the visit, students gained rare firsthand insights into the <strong data-start=\"566\" data-end=\"640\">daily routines of inmates, prison regulations, and types of punishment<\/strong> implemented within the institution. Dedicated Prison Officers guided participants through informative sessions, explaining how security measures are balanced with rehabilitation efforts aimed at preparing inmates for life after release.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"499\" data-end=\"877\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-23076 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/colleges.segi.edu.my\/penang\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2026\/02\/Media-16-300x225.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"715\" height=\"536\" \/><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"499\" data-end=\"877\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-23075 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/colleges.segi.edu.my\/penang\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2026\/02\/Media-15-300x225.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"715\" height=\"536\" \/><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"879\" data-end=\"1215\">For students specialising in <strong data-start=\"908\" data-end=\"944\">Forensic and Criminal Psychology<\/strong>, the experience was particularly meaningful. Concepts previously learned in lectures\u2014such as offender behaviour, risk assessment, and rehabilitation models\u2014came to life through direct observation and professional sharing, transforming theory into tangible understanding.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1217\" data-end=\"1500\">The visit also encouraged thoughtful discussions on <strong data-start=\"1269\" data-end=\"1322\">empathy, second chances, and community acceptance<\/strong>. Students were challenged to reflect on the social stigma faced by ex-offenders and the important role psychologists and educators play in supporting reintegration into society.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1502\" data-end=\"1763\">Beyond academic learning, the programme highlighted the human side of correctional work.
