Certificate, diploma, and degree students studying hospitality at SEGi recently traded their textbooks for a hands-on learning experience in Port Dickson. The educational trip took them to not one, but two renowned resorts \u2013 Lexis Hibiscus and Tasik Villa Resort \u2013 offering a diverse and comprehensive look into the hospitality industry.<\/span><\/p>\n

This immersive experience, embedded within their coursework, allowed students to witness firsthand the day-to-day operations of successful resorts. They observed industry best practices in guest services, resort management, and overall operations, gaining valuable exposure to the realities of the hospitality sector.<\/span><\/p>\n

The inclusion of Tasik Villa Resort was a last-minute bonus, thanks to a late approval, enriching the learning experience further. With half the students exploring the luxurious overwater villas and extensive facilities of Lexis Hibiscus, and the other half immersed in the family-friendly environment of Tasik Villa, the trip provided a well-rounded perspective on different resort management styles and target audiences.<\/span><\/p>\n

At Lexis Hibiscus, students observed the intricacies of managing a high-end property, from guest relations and housekeeping procedures to the coordination of various departments to ensure a seamless and luxurious experience.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tasik Villa Resort, with its focus on family-friendly accommodation and recreational activities, offered a contrasting learning environment. Students gained insights into catering to the needs of families and leisure travellers, with a focus on creating a welcoming and engaging atmosphere. They observed the management of recreational facilities, food and beverage services, and the unique challenges and rewards of this market segment.<\/span><\/p>\n

By experiencing both resorts, students gained a deeper understanding of the diverse nature of the hospitality industry and the varying approaches to successful resort management. This real-world exposure bridged the gap between theoretical learning and industry practices, allowing students to connect their classroom knowledge with practical observations.<\/span><\/p>\n
