Dr Ng served for 36 years with Ministry of Education (MoE) Malaysia. Her last position is as Deputy Director CDD MoE overseeing curriculum development across all subjects offered in schools. Dr Ng has extensive experience in curriculum development, policy formulation, STEM Education, Early Childhood Care and Education nationally, regional and globally. Dr Ng is also heavily involved in international projects spearheaded by UNESCO, UNICEF, IBE, MCUP, ISTIC, ASEAN and SEAMEO. Projects that she has involved included the SDG, Asia-Pacific Early Childhood Development Scale Development (EAPECDS), ECCE Policy Implementation Review, Comparative Study on Science Curriculum, Southeast Asia Regional Standards for Science Teachers(SEARS-ST), Global Citizenship Education, STEM for girls under South-South Cooperation, Quality ECCE Program, Curriculum development. Resource Pack for Gender- Responsive STEM Education. Dr Ng is actively involved in conducting and evaluating research nationally and regionally. She has served as reviewers and editors of various national and international journal. Dr Ng is also actively involved in capacity building in the country and globally. She worked closely with IBE UNESCO provide training in curriculum development and organised STEM policy dialogue in Kenya, Cambodia, Vietnam, Sri Langka, Nigeria, Indonesia. Dr Ng is also active in the professional bodies and NGOs. She currently is the Vice President of Asia Pacific Research Association of Curriculum and Instruction (APRACSI), Treasurer of Qualitative Research Association Malaysia (QRAM), President of Malaysian Association of Professional Early Childhood Educators (MAPECE), and also in the Chemistry Education Committee of the Malaysia Institute of Chemistry.
