DESCRIPTION:KOTA DAMANSARA: SEGi University & Colleges signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Affin Islamic Bank on Education Financing-i recently to offer a flexible funding solution to all its existing and new students. \nThe MoU was signed by Mr Daniel Teng\, Group Senior Executive Director of SEGi University & Colleges and Encik Nazlee Khalifah\, Chief Executive Officer of AFFINISLAMIC at SEGi University\, Kota Damansara. \nIn his speech\, Daniel said SEGi is proud to partner with Affin Islamic Bank to offer the funding solution. \n“This product adopts a shared responsibility approach where several family members or guardians can jointly support the educational needs of one student. SUMMARY:SEGi University Hosts Powertalk on Entrepreneurship
DESCRIPTION:SEGi Group Managing Director Tan Sri Clement Hii shared his bitter sweet journey growing up as a little boy from a village in Sibu\, Sarawak to a global and well-known entrepreneur in a ‘powertalk’ to inspire budding entrepreneurs among SEGians. \nEntitled\, “The Entrepreneur in You”\, the talk held at Auditorium A\, SEGi University was attended by some 300 SEGi staff and students from various fields who wanted to get an insight into the tycoon’s early years. \nIn the talk\, Tan Sri Clement urged students who were interested to venture into the entrepreneurial world to become ‘risk-takers’\, not expecting to start perfect\, without making any mistakes. Through his narrative of life experiences\, the lesson learnt was that the experiences acquired were part and parcel of becoming an entrepreneur as it helped prepare one’s strength\, commitment\, mindset in building one’s potential and finding better solutions to achieve one’s aims. \nHis life-inspired powertalk was followed by a Q&A session and the official launching of SEGi’s Aspiring Entrepreneurs Club (AEC). Under the club which will be set up in every SEGi campus\, students will be exposed to the minds and works of entrepreneurs through the various programmes and activities.

These lecturers of the Faculty of Dentistry have displayed their creativity and photographic skills by giving out-of-the-box perspectives of dental materials used daily in dentistry as works of art. These photos have been appreciated on an international platform like the Dental Update\, a UK-based indexed dental journal by George Warman Publications (UK) Ltd. which has used Dr Arun Paul’s and Dr Neeraj Malhotra’s ‘The Gauze Grassland”- a zoom view of surgical gauzes packed for sterilization in the January 2018 issue (Number 1\, Vol 45). Dr Avita Rath’s image entitled “A customized model of acrylic resin endodontic teeth for simulation lab” served as the cover of the May 2018 issue (Number 5\, Vol 45). Congratulations!

SUMMARY:Visit to Hilton Kuala Lumpur
DESCRIPTION:A group of five Year 1 students from BITHM visited the Hilton Kuala Lumpur on the 30th July 2018 as an errand to complete the final research project for the module ‘Room Division 1’. During the three-hour visit\, the group managed to interview the learning development manager of Hilton Kuala Lumpur\, Mr Alvin Fernande\, and were given a hotel tour and group photo session. Overall\, the visit to the hotel was a success\, providing us with all the information needed. And last but not least\, we would like to thank Ms Saba for all the assistance provided throughout this trip.

In the finals\, our team defeated INTI University 2-1. Overall\, our team showed an outstanding performance in the MAPCU Games 2018 with the historical success. We hope our team will continue to make the university proud next year and defend our winning title. Congratulations to all our SEGi players! You have really captured the spirit of “The Best in You\, Made Possible”.
